This was my 2nd visit to World Service Nottingham and just like the first time I went, I had an excellent time. The restaurant is one of Nottingham’s best fine dining restaurants and is situated in an excellent 17th century building.
On our arrival we were welcomed and shown to the bar area as we did arrive fairly early, we had a drink and had a look through the menu. The waiting staff were very quick to bring our drinks order and were very friendly.
Soon after selecting what food we wanting, we were shown to our table. The atmosphere was excellent and tables were far enough apart that we could have our own conversation.
What’s The Location Like?
World Service is situated just off Maid Marian Way, its away from the hustle and bustle of central town but close to some very nice bars (Bear & Lace is a recommendation for a drink!)
World Service Nottingham is also very close to the castle so well worth a little walk before or after dinner, if you are visiting the area. The restaurant is very close to bus routes, Train station and taxis so transportation to and from there should be a problem.
What Did I have?
I found it very hard to choose from the menu, there was so much of it that sounded excellent!
Starter – Twice Cooked Pork With Scallops
Scallops are one of my favourite things to have as a starter and combined with Pork I was in pure heaven. The sizing was perfect and the presentation was excellent!
Main – Pave Venison
I have never had Venison before so was eager to try it, I was torn between this and the rabbit. The venison was cooked perfectly and had a great taste to it.
Desert – Cheese Board
There were 5 cheeses in total and each one tasted incredible, I loved the Linconshire and the goats cheese.
What Was The Service Like?
I found the service to be excellent, they were friendly and accommodating. I went for my Birthday which the waiter was aware of which was very nice. They didn’t once allow the glasses to go empty, which was very nice!
Final Foodie Thought
To me World Service Nottingham is one of the best restaurants in the city and would recommend it to anyone that is looking for an excellent meal. It is a fine dining restaurant so I think the price does reflect that, you can however tell that the food and ingredients used are high quality.
I would recommend people visit this restaurant and cannot wait to return again!
Hi, my name is Martyn and I consider myself an Amateur Chef. I love everything about food and this was the main reason I started this blog, to showcase that passion. I started this blog in 2014 with an aim to showcase tasty recipes, restuarant reviews and useful cooking tips and tricks.
Even though I do consider myself an Amateur, I have continued to develop my skills in the kitchen. I am self taught but I do also take part in a number of cooking courses to help learn something new.
