Le Bistrot Pierre NottinghamI have never been to Le Bistrot Pierre Nottingham before and was really looking forward to it. We had spent the day shopping so booked into the restaurant at 5:30.

I was a little surprised when we came and the restaurant was closed with a large queue outside, we soon discovered that we were booked onto the pre-theatre menu. I did wonder how they were going to cook for everyone…

We sat down and looked through the menu, there was some choice but not as much as id like as I did pre look at the menu online.

I have ranked it as a 3.5 as the starter was excellent, the service was perfect however the main did let it down more on this below. I have given it more of rating as everyone I have spoken to did say they loved it, so I expect it was either a bad night or a reason to avoid the pre-theatre menu. I would let it put you off going as it has a great reputation!

What’s Le Bistrot Pierre Nottingham Location Like?

It is one of the best located restaurants I think, its located on Milton street which is right in the centre. There are a number of bus routes nearby with taxi ranks as well incase you needed a taxi. If you are carrying on for drinks then the corner house is close by which has a number of bars.

What Did I have at Le Bistrot Pierre Nottingham?

For the starter I had a pate with sourdough bread, it was very nice and tasty. I polished it right off, just wish there was more of it.

Main I had Slow Cooked Pork with potatoes and seasonal vegetable. If I am honest I was a little disappointed with it, the pork to me was not slow cooked but did taste as though it was pre-cooked and heated. The seasonal veg was not all cooked as the broccoli was still very hard.

Again I don’t know if this was down to the fact that it was a pre-theatre menu or not as all the images of food on the website look great and many of the reviews I have read have also been positive.

What Was The Service Like?

The service to me was good, the food came out fairly quickly with additional bread when asked. There was an issue with the bill which the waitress noticed right away and resolved.

Final Foodie Thought on Le Bistrot Pierre Nottingham

The atmosphere and look of Le Bistrot Pierre Nottingham is excellent, the decor is great. I really enjoyed my starter but the main was a little disappointing. I would recommend people come and visit but Id personally not try the pre-theatre menu again.
