Kale Strawberry Smoothie
kale strawberry smoothie makes a perfect breakfast or even a snack throughout the day, it contains a massive amount of benefits and ensures you get a good amount of fruit and vegetables. This smoothie contains kale as well as spinach as you don’t want a smoothie to just include fruit.
I made it with kale as it is low in calories, high in fibre whilst having zero fat content. It is said to help aid digestion as well as a number of other health benefits such as improving blood glucose. Kale is said to be more beneficial than spinach, but spinach also contains many benefits which makes it a great addition to any smoothie.
It is also low in fat but also contains a good amount of fibre, protein and vitamins such as A, C, E and K. The addition of strawberry gives it a nice berry taste, the banana adds a little additional sweetness. You could add milk or yogurt but this does make it a little higher in fat content, I replaced this with almond milk.
I also find that almond milk makes it less lumpy and is therefore much easier to drink. Just as spinach and kale have a number of health benefits, the fruit included also has a good amount of benefits. Strawberries have a good amount of antioxidants as well as having a good supply of minerals, nutrients and vitamins such as dietary fibre.
It is also very high in vitamin C. The Almond milk has a wide range of benefits to your health as it contains vitamins such as calcium and iron among many others. Making kale strawberry smoothie is incredibly easy and only takes a few minutes to make, perfect for in the morning before going to work.
In a blender place 200ml of almond milk along with 5 strawberries that have been chopped. Add 1 banana sliced, a handful of kale and a handful of spinach.

Top Tip – Get a decent Blender It’s important to get a good blender, if you are using a food processor or a poor quality blender then it won’t get the smoothie as smooth as possible and some things just wont blend very well. You don’t need to spend much on a blender though, the BlendActive is great and is under £20. Click Here to read my review of the BlendActive
