Description

I love a good naan bread with an Indian, these homemade Garlic naan’s are really nice and easy to make!

Scale

Ingredients

  • 150 ml Warm Water
  • 1 tablespoon of Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of dried active yeast
  • 250 g of plain flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 25 g Butter
  • Coriander for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl combine the water sugar and yeast, whisk lightly
  2. Leave for 15 minutes until foam starts to appear on the top
  3. In another bowl place flour, salt and oil
  4. Mix in the yeast mixture with a spoon
  5. Add 2 cloves of garlic minced and stir into the dough mixture
  6. Mix until fully combined and place on a floured surface
  7. Knead for 10 minutes, adding any additional flour when needed
  8. Put in a bowl and cover, leave in a warm place for 60-90 minutes until it has doubled in size
  9. Pre-heat oven at highest setting
  10. Knock back and knead on a floured surface for 5 minutes
  11. Divide into two balls and roll to 1 cm in thickness
  12. Combine butter and 2 crushed garlic cloves and rub onto the top of each naan
  13. Cook in oven for 5 minutes or until fully cooked

Notes

For the garlic topping instead of using solid butter – Melt butter in a saucepan with garlic and brush onto naan instead of rubbing

If using a pizza stone like I did, place the stone in the oven and allow it to heat up with the oven. Leave to heat up for roughly an hour.
