I have written this privacy statement to disclose how AmateurChef (https://www.amateurchef.co.uk) uses and stores information of visitors. It also discloses what information is collected and how it is used. Anything on this statement is only related to this website.

At AmateurChef, I want to ensure your privacy is protected. If you are asked for any information when on this blog, it will only be used based on the contents of this statement. No information is sold to 3rd parties.

What Information Does AmateurChef Collect?

When you visit any website, it collects a certain amount of information. I wanted to be clear on what information I do collect.

Information you provide on the website

There may be a time in which you will provide some personal information such as your name and/or email address. The most common time this happens is if you was to comment on one of my posts.

I will also collect the above information if you subscribe to my newsletter or enter your email on one of the forms on the site.

Information collected from 3rd parties

I use tools such as Google Analytics which provides information about you and the device you are using to view the website. This includes information such as I, Browser type, how you found AmateurChef and which pages you viewed. This information is collected to ensure that I am providing the content you are looking for.

We may log information using cookies, which are small data files stored on your browser by the Website. Cookies provide you with a more personalized experience on the Website. We may use both session cookies, which expire when you close your browser, and persistent cookies, which stay on your browser until deleted.

What do 3rd parties use my information with?

As mentioned some of your information is passed onto 3rd parties, however this is only to provide a function for this site and why you submitted the information. NONE of the information is given with the consent for them to spam you in anyway.

The 3rd party services that I currently use are;

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a service I use to give me information such as what actions you take on my site and what website you went through to find mine. They often capture your IP address but do not have any other information.

Gleam.io

I use Gleam.io to host competitions and giveaways. In order to take part in a competition you need to submit your email address, as well as share/comment from social accounts. Active Campaigns

AmateurChef does collect visitors email address, either as a way to join the newsletter or to download a free recipe book. Active Campigns is the service used to collect the email address and send any future informational/promotional emails to you. They therefore collect your name and email when required, i do not provide them with any other information.

Except when required by law, we will not sell, distribute, or reveal your email addresses or other personal information without your consent; however, we may disclose or transfer personal information collected through the Website to third parties who acquire all or a portion of our business, which may be the result of a merger, consolidation, or purchase of all or a portion of our assets, or in connection with any bankruptcy or reorganization proceeding brought by or against us.

Information that is publicly available

Depending on how you interact with AmateurChef, will determine what personal information is shared with other visitors. If you post a comment then your name and website address(if you have one) will be visible, although your email address will NOT be shared.

Cookies – Not the edible ones though!

If you dont know what a cookie is, its a bit of code that sites on your computer and passes certain information back. They are basically a requirement for all websites to function as well as possible.

This is a law that was brought out by people that dont fully understand what cookies are or their function. We use third-party companies to serve some content and adverts, whilst you are visiting the website. These companies sometimes use cookies.

Affiliate Programs

I do work with some affiliate programs and use links on reviews which when clicked takes you to the partners website. When you click this link a cookie is often dropped on your computer, this is used for tracking purposes and has no personal information attached.
Subscribing to newsletter/free downloads

You can subscribe to the newsletter or download a free ebook (recipe book). You will only receive emails from me with new posts/recipes and potentially some promotional emails for items you may find interesting. Your contact details will not be used for anything else.

Your personal information and your rights

I want to reassure you that any information collected IE contact information is only used for maintaining the website and contacting you if needed. None of this information is passed onto third parties, unless permission has been given, or we have legally been asked for information.

Opt out – you can opt out of any future emails from me by simply clicking the unsubscribe link in the emails you receive. You can also email me to request it is removed.

Access – You can request to access what information I have about you, simply drop me an email

Change – If you want to change any information IE email address, simply contact me via email and I can do this for you.

Forget/Remove – If you want any information removed, please contact me by email and ill get any data removed for you.

NOTE: In some circumstances I may need to keep some information for record keeping or by law.

Sensitive Information

Please do not submit any sensitive information such as address, phone number, National insurance or bank account details. The only information I will ever ask for is name and email.

Minors Information

Everyone on this website is safe for all ages to view, there is no adult material. However we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 16. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have some of this information, please contact me as soon as possible and I will have it removed.
